Terms of Service

Last Updated: April 2026

1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service outline the rules and regulations for registering, attending, and publishing via the 1st Borneo International Conference on Public Health and Environmental Health (BIC-PHES 2026). By registering for the conference or submitting an academic paper, you agree to comply with and be bound by these terms.

2. Registration and Payment

  • Registration is considered final only upon the successful clearance of the required fees.
  • Discounted "Student Pass" tickets will require proof of active student status (e.g., student ID or university letter) before the conference date. Failure to provide this will result in an upgrade to the standard professional rate.
  • Receipts and invoices are electronically generated. Institutional billing requests must be sent directly to our secretarial email immediately post-registration.

3. Cancellation and Refund Policy

The organizing committee acknowledges that unforeseen circumstances might prevent your attendance. The following timeline applies to cancellations:

  • Before June 1, 2026: Registrations may be cancelled with a 50% refund (minus transaction fees).
  • After June 1, 2026: No refunds will be issued. However, ticket transfers to a colleague within the same institution are permitted at zero cost.

4. Academic Integrity and Publication

As an academic conference, strict adherence to scholarly ethics is mandated. By submitting an abstract or full paper:

  • You warrant that the submitted work is original, has not been published elsewhere, and is not currently under consideration by another journal or conference.
  • All submissions are subject to a double-blind peer review and plagiarism checks. Submissions exceeding our defined similarity index threshold will be rejected outright without registration refund.
  • Acceptance for presentation does not guarantee publication. Final publication decisions are made by the respective editorial boards of the partner journals/proceedings based on paper quality, revisions made, and scope alignment.

5. Event Code of Conduct

BIC-PHES 2026 is dedicated to providing a harassment-free conference experience for everyone, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, or religion. The Organizers reserve the right to expel anyone violating these rules without a refund.

6. Event Changes and Cancellation

The Committee reserves the right to modify the conference format (e.g., transition from hybrid to entirely virtual) or reschedule the event in cases of Force Majeure (natural disasters, pandemics, governmental bans). In such extraordinary circumstances, proportional adjustments or alternatives will be provided, but full liability for travel or accommodation costs rests with the attendee.
